A decade of experience
I began my career by re-branding a national business, creating marketing material for a range of new business units and learning how to run marketing campaigns in a fast-paced, budget-sensitive environment. I then joined BNRY, an award-winning digital agency where I produced work in the realms of UX, UI, motion and IA for brands like Infiniti, Europcar, Absa, Lipton, Vodacom, Isuzu, and Discovery Heath.
I then joined Titan Digital, taking on a leading role in designing a templating system for their new generation of websites, and building a new site for the agency.
For about 3 years, I worked for FreeThinking, a design & dev consultancy. My client, Absa, a multi-national Tier 1 Bank operates in 10 countries. At Absa (Barclays Africa), I’ve had the honour of being pushed onto many a stage to be a design advocate: I’ve been on missions to African countries work-shopping with top executives in local banks to evangelise Design Thinking and empathise with their customers’ needs first-hand.
At Rank, the UK’s largest Casino group, I lead the creation of a design system that still maintains more than 7 brands.
A pattern of leadership
At 22, I was asked to rollout a new business division to cater to corporate presentations and lighting. I was the lead creative in an award-winning agency. I’ve advised on hiring creatives in every job since. I recently lead a team of creatives within FreeThinking called ACRUX (Allies creating resources for UX). We aim to supply assets, templates, guidelines and standards for UX in an organisation with over 50 UX designers.
An active evangelist
At Barclays Africa, I've had the opportunity to travel to 3 national Banks in East Africa to lead Design Thinking Training and Workshop sessions with Bank Executives in each Bank. Our largest group was over 40 people in a 2 day session.
